CRUISING IN JAPAN 2014

We left the Philippines in May 2014, leaving from San Fernando in Luzon.  Our first landfall was Green Island in Taiwan. From there we travelled up the east coast to the Port of Hulien.

We spent some time there shopping, buying folding bikes, etc. We caught the train to Taipei for a quit visit, making sure that we saw the National Museum. Later we took a tour to the Taroko Gorge.

We left Hualien on the 19th June with Ishigaki as our destination in Japan. This was 150NM to the east, so an overnight sail/motor.  I took some time to get our phones and internet access sorted but it was finally done after about three days.

Here we had our first typhoon warning, there were to be many more!
